Nikki Morrison is an Animal Welfare, Behaviour & Implementation Specialist and founder of Nikki Morrison | Welfare in Practice. With 25 years’ cross-sector experience, she speaks about what it takes for welfare science, standards, behavioural knowledge and good intentions to translate into real-world practice.

Nikki Morrison is an Animal Welfare, Behaviour & Implementation Specialist and founder of Nikki Morrison | Welfare in Practice. Her work focuses on bridging the gap between animal welfare standards and real-world practice, drawing on 25 years’ experience across zoological collections, rescue and rehoming, assistance-animal settings, behaviour programmes, operational leadership and international consultancy. Nikki is currently studying for a BSc (Hons) in Animal Welfare Science at Scotland’s Rural University College (SRUC) and speaks on welfare implementation, behaviour-informed systems, standards-to-practice gaps, welfare culture, operational empathy and practical improvement.
